Guidelines,” and New York City Audubon’s “Bird-Safe Building

County shall make existing buildings bird-safe where practicable.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

construction committee approved the language today; the July 22 vote is pro
forma. Judy Pollock, Donnie Dann and I spoke at the meeting but we were somewhat
superfluous. The county construction department director ‘gets it’
and he said all the right things about minimal costs involved, etc. The
commissioners in attendance actually seemed to be interested. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><font size=2 color=black face=Verdana><span
style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Verdana;color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><font size=2 color=black face=Verdana><span
style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Verdana;color:black'>This is just specific
to the 100+ buildings owned by the county but they voluntarily committed to
extend it to those unincorporated parts of the county that fall under the
County’s zoning jurisdiction, mostly to set an example for the 120+
municipalities in the County that do their own zoning.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
