shorebird spots, this facility has been closed to birders for several years.
Now, the facility is being opened to tour groups by special arrangements.
Evanston North Shore Bird Club is working out details with the
Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. On Saturday, September 16, a
group of 25 birders will be allowed to bird this potentially marvelous area. A
quick scouting trip on August 26 revealed 10 species of shorebirds, and with
more eyes and more time the chances are excellent something exciting will turn
up. Although we can't, guarantee results, you shouldn't pass up this rare
opportunity. PRE-REGISTRATION ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED! Meet at 6:45 a.m. at
the <u1:place u2:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Calumet</u1:place></st1:place>
