<BR>The Chicago Department of Environment will host a CALUMET RESEARCH SUMMIT 

<BR>to be held Tuesday, January 10 and Wednesday, January 11, 2006, &nbsp;8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

The summit will begin with a review of the plans that have helped shape the research agenda: the development of the Calumet Open Space Reserve, the completion of the Ecological Management Strategy, as well as the Ecotox Protocol, &nbsp;Stewardship Initiative, and Hydrologic Master Plan. The summit will conclude with a discussion of data gaps, synergies, and next steps.

Some 31 speakers will be featured, with topics including wildlife, ecotox, hydrology, social &amp; economic implications, and soil alternatives &amp; infrastructure. Panel discussions will also be held.
