Congress Sign onto Letter Urging Increase for State Wildlife Grants<br>
Thus far, we have nine Senators and 80 Representatives that have
officially signed onto the State Wildlife Grants dear colleague
letter. Last year, we had 52 Senators and 111 Reps. sign on. Our
goals this year are to garner even more support.....so please help by
acting now. The updated list of Members organized by state is
below. The House letter deadline is likely April 5th (but might be
SOONER) and the Senate deadline by mid-April, likely by April 15th.
That is NOT much time. Please help us today (or tomorrow!).

</font><font size=4><b>It is really important that you call, email or fax
your Members of Congress and ask them to sign onto the State Wildlife
Grants "dear colleague" letter asking for $85M for FY06.
</b></font> Congress is on recess so it can often be a good time to
make this kind of call to staff or visit with the Member of Congress back
home. The deadline for these letters will close right after they
get back on April 4th. We need to have enough support in these
offices that they sign on that day so the letter can be delivered to the
Appropriations Committee for official submission. Time is really
short this year. We had a very successful Fly In Day - Please
follow up with your visits and get those Members officially on board
supporting this important and popular program. Its all hands on
deck right now. We should be able to at least achieve last year's
numbers and hopefully get even more but time is really tight on this. It
can not wait.<br><br>

Congress sign on to the letter<br><br>
Its easy, they just have to call the staff for the lead Members of
Congress circulating the letter (it says this at the bottom of both
letters). For the Senate: Republicans call Sen. Warners office and
Democrats call Sen Lincoln's office. For the House: Republicans
call Cong Saxton's office and Democrats call Cong. Thompson's
office. All they do is express interest in signing the letter at
this point, on the deadline day, the actual official letter will be
circulated among the Members for their official signature. Be sure your
Members of Congress do not miss the deadline!<br><br>
